Hints and Advice

Visiting

OPENING HOURS

It is strongly recommended that all customers visit the storage facility of their choice prior to moving in. This will enable you to assess the suitability in terms of access, security, cleanliness, and cost. As you would expect, not all self storage facilities are the same and like other services - you get what you pay for! Always ensure that the facility you use is climate controlled.

Preparation

It is important to prepare certain items for storage. The purchase of appropriate boxes and packaging materials can be ordered by phone in advance from the Packaging Accessories brochure enclosed. Packaging can be collected or delivered (at a nominal cost of transport) depending on quantity and location. It is essential that all fridges and freezers are thoroughly defrosted, clean and dry prior to storage (any residual dampness will result in mildew and render the item unusable in the future). The better the preparation and packaging undertaken prior to the removal day will greatly facilitate an easy move with less wasted time of the removal men and a saving in space (and therefore charges) whilst goods are in storage.

Valuables

Storage of jewellery, watches, money, and other similar small value items is not permitted. We do, however, carry a high insurance classification covering items such as antiques and works of art and readily accept artic es with values of up to £25,000 for goods in store. Articles with values between £25,000 and £ 100,000 can be accepted with prior notification, and articles with values between 100,000 and £ 1,000,000 by arrangement.

Security Limitations and Access

Authorised entry security and access
